Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase/use a service from www.blissfulbirth.uk (the “Site”) as well as the choices you have and your rights in relation to your personal information. Your privacy is important to me. Therefore, this policy has been created to answer any questions you might have about how I deal with your data. My practices and procedures are intended to ensure that the information you submit remains private and is only used for the purposes set out in this policy. Please be assured that I will not sell or share any information about you with any third parties unless I am required to do so by law. All information is processed and stored through GDPR-compliant methods or third parties.
Personal information I collect
When you visit the Site, I automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, I collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. I refer to this automatically collected information as “Device Information.”
I collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
Additionally, when you make a purchase or contact me to use my services through the Site, I collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, email address, and phone number. I refer to this information as “Contact Information.”
If you are an expectant parent, I will also collect the date that your baby is due to be born and I may also keep a record of your baby’s name and date of birth.
Under no circumstances do I, or never will, sell any of the personal data that I collect from you.
When I talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, I am talking both about Device Information and Contact Information.
How will I collect any personal data?
I collect information about you and any third parties such as your partner and birth partner when you use my website, for example when you contact me about my courses.
Other methods of collecting data:
The methods in which I collect data may include, but are not limited to:
- Direct contact from existing/potential clients
- Publicly listed information (for example, company addresses)
Your information will be held confidentially and not shared with anyone else. Once the information is no longer needed it will be shredded. Records held on a computer system will be password protected.
I am required to allow you to view your information at any time - you may contact me to do so at wiebke@blissfulbirth.uk.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the data I hold on you is up to date so please contact me at any time to update your records.
How do I use your personal information?
I use the Contact Information that I collect generally to fulfil any services booked through the Site (including processing your message, contact information, arranging the preferred service/course, and providing you with invoices and/or booking confirmations). Additionally, I use this Contact Information to:
Communicate with you;
Screen for potential risk or fraud; and
When in line with the preferences you have shared with me, provide you with information or advertising relating to my products or services.
I use the Device Information that I collect to help me screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimise my Site (for example, by generating analytics about how my customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of my marketing and advertising campaigns).
All the data that I collect is specifically for legitimate purposes; these may include, but are not limited to:
- Providing my products and services to you when you order them
- Booking you onto a Blissful Birth course
- Insurance requirements
- Tailoring content to your situation
- Communicating with you out of sessions
- Ensuring that the information that I hold about you is up to date and accurate
- Checking that you are happy with what I am offering
I ensure that all personal data is only used for legitimate purposes, and only when your interests and fundamental rights do not override my legitimate interests.
I will only use your Information for the purposes which I collected it, unless I reasonably consider that I need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original reason. If I need to use your information for an unrelated purpose, I will notify you.
Sharing your personal information
I share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, I use Processwire to host and manage my website. I also use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site--you can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Finally, I may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information I receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
I am committed to ensuring all third-party partners are GDPR-compliant and have appropriate Privacy Policies.
All third party organisations that I share data with include, but are not limited to:
- Paypal (if you make a payment to me via Paypal)
- Google Tag Manager
- Google Analytics
- Google Search Console
- WhatsApp (if communication runs on WhatsApp)
- Apple Mail (if you contact me via Email)
- Facebook (if communication runs on Facebook or if you are part of our Facebook community)
Please note, that I use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager & Google Search Console. The integration of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager Measurement of website performance are using Google.
ATTENTION: The data is sent to the United States, which is where Google is based. Therefore GDPR compliance cannot be guaranteed.
Behavioural advertising
As described above, I use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications I believe may be of interest to you. Please note that I do not alter my Site’s data collection and use practices when I see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.
Your rights
If you are a resident in the UK, European Economic Area or Switzerland, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please email us at wiebke@blissfulbirth.uk and include “GDPR” request in the subject line.
If you would like to make a request under the privacy laws of another jurisdiction, please let me know where you reside and which rights you’d like to exercise by contacting the above email address.
I only collect and process personal information about you where I have a lawful bases for doing so, namely in order to fulfil contracts I might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site or by requesting a service that I offer), or otherwise to pursue my legitimate business interests listed above.
Overview – you have the following rights:
- The right to ask for a copy of personal data that we hold about you (the right of access).
- The right to request that I delete personal data held on you; where I no longer have a legal reason to retain it (the right of erasure or to be forgotten) – This may result in your contract being cancelled if the information that you have asked me to delete is required for the contract for your booking.
- The right to ask me to update or correct any out of date or incorrect personal data that I may hold about you (the right of rectification).
- The right to opt out of any marketing communications that I may send you and object to me using/ holding any of your personal data if I have no legitimate reasons to do so (the right to object).
- The right (in certain circumstances) to ask me to ‘restrict processing of data’, which means that I need to secure and retain the data for your benefit but not otherwise use it (the right to restrict processing).
- The right (in certain circumstances) to ask me to supply you with some of the personal data I hold about you in a structured - machine-readable format and/or to provide a copy of the data in such a format to another organisation (the right to data portability).

Data retention
When you place a booking or request through the Site, I will maintain your Contact Information for my records for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes I collected it for. In some cases I may anonymise your personal information for statistical purposes in which case I may use this information indefinitely without further notice.
Opting out
You can ask us to stop sending you marketing messages at any time by contacting us by email at wiebke@blissfulbirth.uk or writing to my office (57 Belfast Road, Holywood, BT18 9ES).
Changes
I may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to my practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. Any personal identifiable information you provide to me will be subject to the most current version of this privacy policy posted on my website.
GDPR
The participants agree that Wiebke Madden and Blissful Birth will hold your details securely on file and computer and, in accordance with the GDPR Act 2018, you have the right to view, amend or delete your individual file by giving at least seven days’ written notice. I treat and respect your personal data and treat it with the utmost care and only keep relevant information in order for me to be able to process your booking. Under no circumstances do I sell or give your information to a 3rd party.
Cookie policy in detail
I use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps me analyse data about web page traffic and improve my website in order to tailor it to customer needs. I only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.
My cookies help me to:
- make my website work correctly
- remember your settings during and between visits
- improve the speed and security of the website
- continuously improve my website for you
- make my marketing more efficient
Granting me permission to use cookies
You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
If the settings on the computer, phone or tablet that you are using to view this website (your browser) are adjusted to accept cookies I assume that this, and your continued use of my website, to mean that you are fine with using cookies. Should you wish to remove or not use cookies from my website you can learn how to do this below, however doing so will likely mean that our site will not work as you would need it to.

Turning cookies off
You can usually switch cookies off by adjusting your browser settings to stop it from accepting cookies. Doing so however will likely limit the functionality of mine and a large proportion of the world’s websites as cookies are a standard part of most modern websites
It may be that you are concerned around cookies relating to so called “spyware”. Rather than switching off cookies in your browser you may find that anti-spyware software achieves the same objective by automatically deleting cookies considered to be invasive. What if I do not agree with the privacy policy?
If you do not agree with the details set out in this policy, please do not submit your data to me.
If you have previously agreed to me using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, or for use of products or services, and you would like me to remove your data please email me at wiebke@blissfulbirth.uk and I will remove/delete your data within 28 days.
Gift vouchers
Voucher duration. Vouchers are valid for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase. Cannot be redeemed after expiry date.
Email vouchers. Email vouchers shall be provided to the email address provided at point of purchase.
Voucher redemption. Services must be pre-booked. Vouchers can be redeemed at time of booking only.
Refunds. Vouchers are non-refundable. No change or credit given in the event that the voucher value exceeds the total cost of the course – for example where a £100 voucher is used to purchase a £95 course.
Monetary vouchers. Monetary vouchers can be used for part or full payment. If the course cost exceeds the amount of the gift voucher, the balance must be paid in full by credit or debit card at the point of booking.
Course availability. Blissful Birth does not guarantee that spaces will be available on courses. Spaces are only secured once a course has been booked, so it is recommended that you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Transfer. Vouchers are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Lost or stolen vouchers. Lost, stolen or destroyed gift vouchers will not be exchanged or refunded.
Cancellation. In the unlikely event that a course needs to be cancelled by Blissful Birth, a new gift voucher shall be issued and shall be valid for a further 6 months. In the event that a course is cancelled by a voucher holder no refund shall be given.
